Planet Zoo 2 Nordic Fjords Bronze Guide: Aquariums & Marine Animals
The Planet Zoo 2 Nordic Fjords Bronze objectives introduce aquarium management, starting with a Moon Jelly exhibit before moving into filtration, water quality, marine animal compatibility, and veterinary care.
Welcome to All A-Fjord
Part 4 of the Career Road to Gold moves into the Nordic Fjords and the Career scenario All A-Fjord.
Dr. Brooks, the resident marine biologist, introduces the aquatic center and begins expanding its collection with a new exhibit.
The first animal is a Moon Jelly.
This smaller exhibit provides a simple introduction before the scenario moves into the much more involved aquarium systems.
Building the Moon Jelly Exhibit
The first Bronze task is straightforward: place the exhibit and bring in the Moon Jelly.
Once the exhibit is ready, the animal can be adopted and housed.
The next project is considerably larger.
Finishing the New Aquarium
A new aquarium has already been constructed, but it is missing an important component: the Aquarium Staff Gate.
Without the gate, staff cannot properly access the aquarium to feed, clean, and move animals.
After installing the gate, the focus turns to water management.
Setting Up Aquarium Filtration
Aquarium animals depend on good water conditions, so the new aquarium needs its own filtration system.
The existing filtration network is already at capacity, which means another Water Filter is required.
The aquarium then needs to be connected to the filtration system so the water can continuously circulate and stay clean.
The filter also needs power, so a generator must cover the facility.
Finally, the aquarium's salinity and temperature need to match the needs of the animals being introduced.
Strategy Takeaway
For aquarium builds, do not treat the tank as a standalone habitat.
Check the entire support system:
Staff access
Water filtration
Filter network connection
Power coverage
Salinity
Water temperature
A beautiful aquarium is not useful if the life-support systems behind it are incomplete.
Adding Golden Trevallies
Once the aquarium is ready, the first larger marine residents arrive.
The Golden Trevallies are handled as a shoal, allowing the group to be fed, treated, and moved together.
This introduces another difference between managing aquatic species and many traditional habitat animals.
Adding Hawksbill Turtles
The Hawksbill Turtles join the fish in the same aquarium.
Before mixing species, the tutorial emphasizes checking compatibility.
Just because two animals can physically share the same space does not automatically mean they should.
For this aquarium, the Golden Trevallies and Hawksbill Turtles have high compatibility, so they can live together successfully.
The Manatee Needs Help
The final major Bronze lesson is animal health.
A manatee begins behaving unusually, so a vet is hired to investigate.
Vets automatically monitor injured and sick animals when they have enough capacity, making them an essential part of maintaining good animal welfare.
Once treated, the manatee returns to normal behavior and the Nordic Fjords introductory sequence wraps up.
