🐊 Planet Zoo – Nile Monitor Habitat Speed Build

Planet Zoo is one of the best simulation games for designing creative and realistic animal enclosures. In this build, I focused on the Nile Monitor, a fascinating reptile that thrives in environments with both water and land. This speed build highlights how to create a functional and natural-looking habitat that works perfectly in your zoo.

🌿 Why Build a Nile Monitor Habitat?

The Nile Monitor is a semi-aquatic reptile, which makes its habitat design unique. They need water for swimming, basking spots for heat, and landscaping for enrichment and exploration. This combination makes them one of the most interesting reptiles to build for in Planet Zoo.

🏞️ Design Features in This Build

  • Water Features – a shallow pool for swimming and cooling off.

  • Basking Rocks – perfect for heat and realistic reptile behavior.

  • Enrichment Items – toys and feeders to keep the monitors active.

  • Foliage & Scenery – plants and rocks from the in-game palette to match their natural environment.

  • Guest Viewing – open sightlines so players’ zoo visitors get the best views of these reptiles.

🎮 Why This Build Works

This habitat is balanced for gameplay and realism. It’s large enough for Nile Monitors to thrive, simple enough for beginners to recreate, and detailed enough to stand out in a speed build showcase.

🐊 Final Thoughts

The Nile Monitor Habitat was an exciting build to design, combining multiple elements of reptile care into one enclosure. It adds variety to any zoo and is a must-have if you’re creating a section dedicated to reptiles.

🐾 Planet Zoo – Black-Tailed Prairie Dog Habitat (North America Pack Speed Build)

Planet Zoo continues to be one of the best games for creative builders, and this time I decided to focus on one of the cutest animals in the North America Pack DLC – the Black-Tailed Prairie Dog. This speed build highlights how to design a natural, functional, and visually appealing habitat that works perfectly in any zoo.

🌿 Why Build a Prairie Dog Habitat?

Prairie dogs are highly social animals that thrive in open, enriched environments. With the North America Pack, we have access to new scenery pieces, burrows, and enrichment items that make it possible to design a habitat that feels both realistic and engaging.

🏞️ Design Features in This Build

  • Natural Burrow Systems – creating underground spaces for prairie dogs to hide and interact.

  • North America Pack Scenery – using rocks, grass, and plants native to their environment.

  • Enrichment Items – keeping the prairie dogs active, healthy, and fun to watch.

  • Guest Viewing Areas – ensuring players can give their zoo visitors the best experience.

🎮 Why This Build Works

This design is simple enough for beginner players, but detailed enough to look realistic. The Black-Tailed Prairie Dog is small but full of personality, making them a great addition to any zoo. By balancing functionality with creative design, this habitat becomes both a guest favorite and an easy-to-manage enclosure.

🐾 Final Thoughts

The Black-Tailed Prairie Dog Habitat is one of my favorite builds from the North America Pack so far. These little animals bring so much life to a zoo, and the speed build process was a lot of fun to put together.
