EA College Football 27 Campus Conquest: Missouri Beats Hawaii in OT

Missouri opened EA College Football 27 Season 2 Campus Conquest with an overtime victory over the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors. The defense forced Hawaii to settle for a 38-yard field goal before Clark delivered the game-winning touchdown.

Hawaii Gets the First Possession

Campus Conquest uses a short overtime format in which every play can decide the matchup. Hawaii received the first possession and had the first opportunity to take control.

The Rainbow Warriors opened with play action, but Missouri created immediate pressure and recorded a sack. That negative play put Hawaii behind schedule and made it difficult for the offense to remain balanced.

Hawaii recovered enough yardage to attempt a 38-yard field goal and took a 3-0 lead. However, holding the CPU to three points was still a successful result for Missouri’s defense. A touchdown on the next possession would win the game.

Missouri Faces an Important Third Down

Missouri’s offensive possession did not begin perfectly. A screen pass produced only a short gain, and an inside running attempt was stopped at the line.

Those two plays created a critical third down. Missouri needed to extend the possession, but a touchdown would end the challenge immediately.

Instead of forcing another run into the middle of the defense, Missouri went to the passing game. Clark got open on the right side, caught the pass and took it to the end zone for the game-winning touchdown.

Missouri did not have to match Hawaii’s field goal or attempt another possession. The touchdown finished the opening Campus Conquest matchup.

Why the Defensive Stand Mattered

The most important part of this victory happened before Missouri’s offense took the field.

The opening sack stopped Hawaii from comfortably following its original game plan. Once the Rainbow Warriors fell behind schedule, Missouri could concentrate on preventing a touchdown.

In this overtime format, allowing a field goal is much better than surrendering seven points. It gives your offense a clear objective: score a touchdown and end the game.

Campus Conquest Overtime Strategy

This matchup provides several useful lessons for College Ultimate Team players:

  • Playing defense first lets you know exactly what the offense needs.
  • An early sack or tackle for loss can disrupt the CPU’s entire possession.
  • After forcing a field goal, prioritize ball security over unnecessary risks.
  • Do not repeatedly call the same type of play after the defense stops it.
  • On an important third down, look for a dependable matchup in space.
  • A touchdown is more valuable than simply matching the opponent’s field goal.

Missouri’s first two offensive plays gained very little, but the offense remained patient and found the right matchup when it mattered.

Quick Takeaway

Holding Hawaii to a field goal gave Missouri a chance to win with one touchdown. After the screen and inside run were stopped, Missouri adjusted to the passing game and found Clark for the winning score.

In Campus Conquest overtime, a defensive field-goal stand should be treated as a victory. Protect the football, remain patient and look for one clean scoring opportunity.
