Fishing Planet’s New Lone Star Exploration 2: A True Level 6 Guide

Fishing Planet’s redesigned Lone Star Lake has changed how newer players approach the early exploration missions. Old markers and previous fishing locations may no longer match the current waterway because the lake was rebuilt with a larger layout and four separate locations.

This updated Lone Star Exploration 2 guide was completed at level 6. It is intended for players who need a solution using equipment they can realistically own during the early stages of progression.

Current Exploration 2 Checklist

The mission requires five catches:

  • Warmouth
  • White Crappie
  • Threadfin Shad
  • Smallmouth Buffalo
  • Channel Catfish

Threadfin Shad was added to Lone Star Lake during the rework, so older Exploration guides may not cover this fish or its current location.

Why This Is a Low-Level Guide

Some Fishing Planet tutorials use stronger rods, advanced tackle, or bait that early players have not unlocked. Those setups may work well for experienced anglers, but they do not always help someone attempting the mission between levels 4 and 6.

This walkthrough stays focused on accessible equipment. For every species, the video demonstrates:

  • Where to cast on the updated map
  • Which rod setup was used
  • The hook and tackle configuration
  • The bait that produced the catch
  • Adjustments needed for the larger fish

Warmouth, White Crappie, and Threadfin Shad can usually be handled with lighter equipment. Smallmouth Buffalo and Channel Catfish require more patience and careful tension control because they represent the heavier part of the mission.

Strategy Takeaway

Complete the smaller fish first, then dedicate separate setups to Smallmouth Buffalo and Channel Catfish. Do not copy a high-level build that your character cannot purchase yet—the safest setup is one your current rod, reel, and line can support without creating an unbalanced combination.

Which fish is the bigger obstacle for a level 6 player: Smallmouth Buffalo or Channel Catfish?
