Starting out in Cosmoteer, I launched into the tutorial with excitement. My ship, a Model L design, is highly maneuverable and comes armed with three offensive lasers. While fast and versatile, it lacks defensive weapons, leaving me vulnerable in extended fights.

First Fugitive Bounty Mission in the Eraboum System 🌌

My first task was to take on a Fugitive Bounty in the Eraboum system. The target was a rogue Vela Class Ship—a dangerous opponent for a new captain. The battle tested my ability to balance offense and maneuverability, but thanks to sharp flying and focused firepower, I brought down the enemy ship. Victory came at a cost, as my ship sustained damage that required immediate repairs.

Returning to Sseriseo Station & Ship Upgrades 🔧

After the battle, I returned to Sseriseo Station to repair the damage and reconfigure my ship. I added two defensive weapons, hoping to balance my firepower and survivability. This step is critical in Cosmoteer, as ship design and upgrades often mean the difference between success and failure.

Second Fugitive Bounty Mission – A Costly Failure 💥

Feeling more confident, I accepted another Fugitive Bounty in the same system. Unfortunately, this mission did not go as planned. My defenses couldn’t hold against the enemy’s sustained attacks, and my Model L ship was eventually overwhelmed. Despite my best efforts, the ship was destroyed, and all hands were lost.

Difficulty Settings: The Challenge of Captain Mode ⚙️

I played with Combat Difficulty set to Captain and Economic Difficulty set to Architect. This combination provides a fair challenge, forcing you to think carefully about every upgrade and mission choice. The unforgiving nature of Cosmoteer means that one bad decision—or one unlucky engagement—can end your run.
